Father gets the VIP treatment

Father’s Day is always a special occasion for dads everywhere but, for two customers of the Coppid Beech Hotel and The Swan at
Streatley, Father’s Day 2003 will be remembered as one that was outstanding thanks to the Nike Group of Companies.

Mr Ma and Tim Butler each got the chance to spend an entire weekend driving a Lexus GS300 after winning a prize draw which they were entered into simply by enjoying Fathers’ Day lunch at the Coppid Beech Hotel’s Rowans restaurant and The Swan at Streatley’s Cygnetures restaurant respectively.

The luxury saloons, complete with leather upholstery and air conditioning, were supplied by Lexus Reading, a branch of Octagon Motor Company Ltd, a Nike Group subsidiary.

Jubilee builds on success

The 2003 season saw the John Nike XI cricket team faced with the challenge of the newly created division made up from the top flight of the Bracknell and District Evening Cricket League.

It was a testing time for the Nike Group team, the only squad representing a company to make it into this new first division.

Alan Connor,Team Captain and Manager of Leisuresport World, Bracknell, said:“A successful cricketing year was enjoyed by all the players against better opposition than previously. We managed to push Binfield – who eventually finished first – to the penultimate ball on both meetings but sadly did not beat them either time.”

However, in the end, glory came for the team when the John Nike President’s XI won the day against the Bracknell XI on 7 September at the annual President’s match.

Octogan reaps the reward of good customer service

All the signs are that it will be another record-breaking year for Octagon as the figures for the year so far have seen a large increase in retail sales.

Sales have doubled at Slough, increased at the Reading showroom by 32 per cent and Bracknell, already enjoying a record market share, increased by a further 30 per cent.

Diana McKinnon, Branch Manager of Octagon Toyota, Slough, said: “There are many reasons why customers have chosen to return to us time and time again. First, Toyota has a young and exciting model range with attractive prices – for example, sales of the recently updated Yaris, Toyota’s only small car, have really taken off, so the increase has been phenomenal.

“Secondly we pride ourselves on our customer service. Our dedicated and long-term team of staff build relationships with customers so we get a lot of repeat business.”

The future also looks bright with the launch, early next year, of the new model of Toyota Prius – the part petrol, part electric fuelled car which avoids the London congestion charge due to its low emissions.

Rainbow improves job times

Customers of Rainbow Colourprint can now expect a quicker and more accurate print process than ever before thanks to an image
setter, film processor and Epsom printer.

Previously, Rainbow did not have the capability to produce film on site so each job had to be outsourced at that stage. The new image setter means that this is no longer necessary, cutting a job which would have previously taken at least 24 hours down to 20 minutes.

The new Epsom printer produces higher quality proofs giving clients a more accurate idea of what their final product will look like.
