Revamped Group website is source of all knowledge

Regular visitors to www.nikegroup.co.uk will have noticed that a brand new site went live in July. Not only does the Nike Group of
Companies’ website now have a more modern look and feel, it also has new sections to share more company information with the
public.

This includes an improved careers section for those who are interested in working for the Group and a new Press Archive
section so Connections readers can find past editions of their favourite magazine at their fingertips.

Additionally, a revamped Thames Valley Tigers Basketball site (www.tvtigers.co.uk) has followed suit. The new site pulls together more information in a quicker, easier navigation system with stronger Thames Valley Tigers branding. There is more information about the Basketball School for youngsters and a brand new section where the views of Tigers’ coach Paul James will be shared with supporters.

John Nike Leisuresport’s online presence (www.jnll.co.uk) is also being developed. Focusing more on local information and service
availability, each centre is having its own mini site designed. Regular users of www.jnll.co.uk should see these sites become available over the next few months.

Hot tips for cool kids

The John Nike Leisuresport Ski and Snowboard Centre in Plymouth had a fantastic winter – and so did the 2,500 children who went
along to use the facilities.

The youngsters came along with school groups to join in activities weeks and took part in snowboarding, skiing and tobogganing.

Alex King, Centre Manager, said: “It was wonderful to see so many young people benefiting from the facilities and tuition .”

John Nike XI is victorious

The 2003 season saw the John Nike XI cricket team faced with the challenge of the newly created division made up from the top flight of the Bracknell and District Evening Cricket League.

It was a testing time for the Nike Group team, the only squad representing a company to make it into this new first division.

Alan Connor,Team Captain and Manager of Leisuresport World, Bracknell, said:“A successful cricketing year was enjoyed by all the players against better opposition than previously. We managed to push Binfield – who eventually finished first – to the penultimate ball on both meetings but sadly did not beat them either time.”

However, in the end, glory came for the team when the John Nike President’s XI won the day against the Bracknell XI on 7 September at the annual President’s match.

Enjoy the executive life

When you book a conference or corporate event at the Coppid Beech Hotel or The Swan at Streatley you don’t just get four star
facilities and service – there is also the added benefit of membership of the hotels’ exclusive Executive Club.

All conference bookers are invited to join the club as the hotels’ way of saying ‘thank you’ for their custom.

The Executive Club meets four times a year, when members are treated to a special evening of entertainment, complete with good food and wine. This year, members have experienced yoga and tai chi, champagne and chocolates, a river cruise from The Swan and salsa dancing.

The next meeting will be held at the Coppid Beech Hotel at the end of January. If you are interested in joining the Executive Club or in booking a conference for your company at hotel call Sheila Robbie on 01344 303333.
