The Nike Group in brief

Rainbow Colourprint is demonstrating the breadth of its skills and services with some new projects.
Existing client Johnson and Johnson has commissioned Bracknell-based Rainbow to design marketing material for sister company, Independence Technology, which designs bespoke medical items.
Rainbow has also been asked to design and print posters and flyers for educational charity The Cadet Vocational Qualifications Office, in Frimley.

Following a busy spring season, the John Nike Leisuresport Centre, Swadlincote, was chosen as the venue to launch the National Forest voucher book in April.The vouchers (including one from the centre) offer discounts for leisure attractions across the Forest which spans parts of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
If you’re planning a party or function in the East Midlands, don’t forget to see what the ski and snowboard centre can offer you. The hospitality staff can cater for fondue or raclette parties, christenings, birthdays and wedding receptions for up to 150 people (see page 6 for more details). Disco and room hire are available on request.

Just sit back and drift away

Summer is a time to kick back and relax and there is no more pleasant way to indulge yourself than at the four-star Swan at Streatley hotel.
It is now well on the way to being back to its beautiful best following an initial refurbishment programme which became necessary as a result of flooding earlier in the year.
Work on the bar and Cygnetures restaurant – the areas most affected by the water – is being carried out by Nike Construction and is due to be completed ahead of schedule in July. Both areas are being restored to their former glory, ready for a new season.
The refurbishment project will then be put on hold for the busy summer period, when the only flood expected will be that of customers through the door.The work will then commence again in September with the laying of brand new carpet throughout the hotel.
Alan Blenkinsopp, Hotel Operations Director, explained:“We are fitting the work around our customers rather than the reverse.
“This is the time of year when The Swan at Streatley looks its very best and we make sure that any refurbishment we carry out is in keeping with the traditional, tranquil setting of the hotel.As always, those who love visiting The Swan can be assured of a peaceful and luxurious stay.”
The next stage of the refurbishment will involve a refit of the bedrooms which is to be carried out in the quieter period towards the end of the year.Watch this space for further details.

Get your skates on

Youngsters have been getting their skates on – thanks to a new product range available from one of Leisuresport World’s North American skate suppliers, CCM.
The Bracknell store introduced CCM’s new range of in-line skates in April. The new models – which include both ice skates and roller blades – proved an instant hit and Alan Connor, Manager, said he is expecting the popularity of the roller variety to grow over summer as they can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Alan also said Leisuresport World’s threeday winter ski sale at the Coppid Beech Hotel at the end of January was the biggest ever. Record numbers of happy shoppers snapped up bargains such as the special ‘three-in-one’ packages, which include snowboards or skis with bindings and boots.
Alan said: “The first day was for mailing list customers only and was the best attended ever. We’re thinking of expanding to open all three days to the general public for the next sale in November to meet the demand.”
All of the Leisuresport World stores, based at John Nike Leisuresport Limited centres across the country, offered end-of-season special offers in a one week sale at the end of April. Ski equipment and clothing were among the bargain buys.
