Bathtime gets the Grand Prix touch

Jubilee Bathroom Supplies is pleased to offer a service which, to its knowledge, no other bathroom showroom provides - Toyota and Lexus colour co-ordinated baths.

In conjunction with Octagon Toyota, Jubilee can supply customers with roll-top baths in any Toyota or Lexus colour. David Lamb, General Operations Director for Octagon, said: "It is quite a surprise to walk into the body shop and find baths waiting to be sprayed and customers collecting colour charts in the car showroom to choose colours for their baths!"

The concept has already taken off and the baths are selling well, including a customer who has ordered a metallic black bath for their 16th century cottage. If you are interested then pay a visit to Jubilee in Bracknell and view the bronze model in the showroom.

Jubilee Bathroom Supplies is always looking at new ideas and creating bathroom designs for the future. For further details, contact Paul Harrison or Paul Gardner on 01344 789400 or check out www.jubileebuildingsupplies.co.uk

Thumbs up for Glasgow!

The Nike Group subsidiary,Techmat 2000, installed a 12 millimetre Greengrass artificial surface on the surrounds of the slope at the Glasgow Ski Centre.

Techmat 2000, manufacturer of ski matting and artificial grass, completed this project ahead of the winter ski season.

John Leonard, Production and Sales Manager, said the surface has been praised by staff for its realistic appearance and also by skiers who have sneaked a ski on the surface - much against the wishes of the centre’s management.

He said:"People at the centre are very happy with the carpet and are delighted with the visual effect.

"The carpet laid on the steep areas has been skied on even though it is not intended for this use. Feedback from those skiers was that they enjoyed the experience on the surface."

Festive season is best ever

The magic of Christmas spread throughout the Nike Group of Companies as it celebrated one of its busiest - and merriest - ever festive seasons.

At the Coppid Beech Hotel, 300 elderly people from the Bracknell area were treated to a day of festive fun which included a complimentary gourmet Christmas lunch. The event, run in conjunction with Age Concern, featured entertainment from old time music entertainer Dottie Wayne, bingo and Christmas carols.Thames Valley Police also attended to give a presentation about bogus callers.

Christmas was a busy time for both Nike Group Hotels - the Coppid Beech and the Swan at Streatley.Alan Blenkinsopp, Hotels Operations Director, told Connections:

"Twice the number of customers chose to spend the festive period at the Swan at Streatley than in recent years and New Year’s Eve was a wonderful occasion at both venues with tickets selling out months in advance."

All the John Nike Leisuresport Limited centres went the extra mile to provide their customers with the best value and entertainment over the Christmas holiday.

Over 1,300 people enjoyed a free skate - John Nike’s present to the community - at the Bracknell ice rink on Christmas Day.The festive atmosphere persuaded families to remain at the centre throughout the day with many staying until the bar closed at 3pm.

At Bristol Ice Rink, over 900 locals enjoyed the free Christmas Day skate. And, in the lead up to Christmas, the rink’s ‘school Christmas party’ offer was well-received, enabling over 1,000 children to party on ice.

During the holidays Father Christmas made a welcome appearance at many of the John Nike Leisuresport centres. At Bracknell, children were invited to join a ski camp at which he arrived as a guest of honour and gave out presents. Disco sessions on the ice rink were also popular.

Children from two local schools had a treat at Llandudno Ski and Snowboard Centre when Santa was enticed by their carol singing and tobogganed down the ski slope to bring them gifts following a skiing lesson.

It was a similar story at John Nike Leisuresport, Swadlincote, where Santa visited the junior ski club who were also treated to winter sports sessions, a disco and meal.Adults weren’t left out - oompah evenings (two rides on the toboggan run, a three-course meal and a band) took place every weekend in December. Customers enjoyed these so much that some have already booked for December 2003 and January 2004.

At John Nike Leisuresport, Chatham, not only was the centre lively in the run up to Christmas but the snow in early January prompted large numbers of customers to get their skis on.The majority of corporate guests chose a fondue evening for their festive celebrations and the restaurant was busy throughout the holidays.

Challenge, the company that runs the World Yacht Race, was one of many companies to enjoy the corporate entertainment at John Nike Leisuresport, Plymouth.
