Ski centres gear up for busy winter season
 |
|
With a hectic summer over,
there's no rest for the John Nike Leisuresport Limited centres across
the country, who have been busy
preparing the slopes for the new winter sports season.
Patrick Renn, Complex Manager at Bracknell, said: "I am very
optimistic about this season and think it will be a busy year on the
slopes, whether artificial or real snow, both in the UK and abroad.
It's great to see that more people are enjoying skiing and snowboarding
- it is, after all, an excellent way to keep fit and very sociable
too."
Andy Rushton, Manager at John Nike Leisuresport, Chatham, is also
looking forward to a good spell. He said: "We are anticipating
our
best season ever because the last few years have been getting busier
and busier. There will be a new intake of staff in September to
cope with the increased popularity that winter sports are enjoying."
Customers are certainly top priority at Swadlincote, says Vince Whitewood,
Manager. He said: "We are keen to encourage our regular customers
to return as well as enticing new ones in to the
centre."
John Nike Leisuresport, Llandudno, is already gearing up for Christmas
to ensure that it is just as magical as the one that customers
enjoyed last year, including Santa's special visit to the ski centre.
Alex King, Manager at Plymouth, has been busy marketing the centre
through regional press. "I have also been making sure that we
have adequate staffing to look after our increasing number of customers
on the slopes."
Even though there is no skiing on offer at Bristol, the centre is
also bracing itself for an influx of visitors to the ice rink. Additional
tea-time skate sessions have been added to the timetable on Tuesdays
and Wednesdays called 'Pop on the Rocks', which take the form of a
junior disco.
