A breath of fresh air |

John Nike Leisuresport, Bristol,
was able to help give a group of children a much needed break from
their difficult home lives when it
played host to Chernobyl Children's Life Line.
The children, aged about 11-years-old, have all been affected in some
way by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The consequences of the
disaster include leukaemia, other cancers and birth defects due to
contamination. The charity arranges for the children to have four
weeks respite to allow them to breathe clean air and eat non-contaminated
food, at least for a short time.Another aim of the visit is for the
children to have fun!
The day started with a lesson from a professional skater, followed
by a skate on the main rink.Tired and happy, the children moved to
the Nestle Smarties Party Zone for a meal where they received a goodie
bag full of treats from the rink's catering suppliers SmithKline
Beecham and Brake Bros.

Octagon expands dealership |
Octagon Motor Company has
added the Slough-based Toyota dealership to its portfolio, meaning
that even more customers in the Thames Valley have easy access to
the company's excellent advice and service.
Octagon is not only the area's largest Toyota and Lexus dealer, with
franchises in both Bracknell and Reading, but also one of the leading
dealers in the UK.
Following the announcement of the acquisition, David Lamb, General
Operations Director for Octagon, said: "We are extremely pleased
with this latest opportunity and are delighted to welcome the successful

Investment in Octagon Motor Company by the Nike Group of Companies
will not stop with this latest addition.As well as just having completed
a refurbishment of the Toyota dealership in Reading (see page 2),
Octagon is now looking for suitable premises in the Slough or Maidenhead
area to relocate the current Lexus Bracknell dealership.This will
further improve access for customers in East Berkshire and Buckinghamshire
to Lexus cars.

Nike Group websites get a revamp |
|
A complete revamp of the
Nike Group of Companies individual websites means that customers
will be able to find out all they need to know about the Group's
services without leaving their PC.
The overhaul is being completed in phases and started with new sites
for Leisuresport World, Jubilee Building Supplies and Rainbow
Colourprint, which were launched at the end of July.
The man responsible for the fresh-look is Hamish Price, the Group's
Webmaster. He explained a few of the changes to Connections: "In
the case of Leisuresport World (right), the new website not only
guides customers to the six shops around the country, it also shows
all the products on-line, allowing them to shop securely from home
and guaranteeing delivery within seven days.
"On the jubilee site, surfers are treated to a 360 degree tour
of the bathroom showroom, which will be updated as new designs are
introduced. Some of Jubilee's products can be bought on-line, including
whole bathroom suites, which will be delivered to your door."
Hamish continued: "As for Rainbow, the site is being completed
in three phases. The first explains the company's core business
of printing and tells customers where to find Rainbow. Phases two
and three will offer new product lines, currently being developed,
one of which is a new web design service."
One of the main aims of the new-look sites is to ensure that all
Nike Group companies have a consistent image, while retaining their
own individuality. Next on Hamish's schedule is the Bracknell Bees
ice hockey site and he will then move onto the other companies,
and the Nike Group home page, within the next 12 months.
Nike Group Hotels also launched a different image on the Internet
recently. A brand new site has been developed for The Swan at Streatley,
with its sister site, the Coppid Beech Hotel, revamping its own
site so that the two share a common style.Both sites will be linked.
Hotel customers will be able to find out all they need to know in
terms of accommodation, events, packages and special offers by logging
on. They will also be able to book on-line.
