Hotel launch new wedding day packages

New wedding packages have been launched for The Swan at Streatley and the Coppid Beech Hotel, to offer happy couples a wide variety of options for their big day.

The Coppid Beech Hotel
The Hotel offers three different wedding packages -'The Firs' for £45 per person, 'The Cedars' for £55 and 'The Beeches' for £65. All three include a reception drink, a three- course wedding breakfast, wine, the hotel toastmaster, reception and evening room hire, flowers for the tables and a superior room for the bride and groom's wedding night. 'The Cedars' also includes a bottle of Champagne, bouquet of flowers and basket of fresh fruit for the happy couple, and a glass of Champagne for each guest for the toasts.
Among the extras included in 'The Beeches' are disposable cameras for each table and, for the bride and groom, a bottle of chilled Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne with fresh strawberries and an executive suite with a Jacuzzi bath.
The Coppid Beech Hotel has three rooms which can be used for weddings - the Pine Suite which can hold up to 120 guests for the evening reception, the Juniper Suite which can hold up to 150 and the Sequoia Suite which can hold 250 guests.

The Swan at Streatley
There are two packages available at The Swan at Streatley - 'The Water Lily' for £70 per person and 'The Petunia' for £80. These include everything offered in the Coppid Beech Hotel's 'Firs' package in the idyllic and romantic riverside setting of the Icknield suite (for up to 130 guests) and the Thames Room (maximum of 50 people). For a really unique location, the Magdalen College Barge can cater for up to 40 guests.
There are also buffet menus available for the evening at either hotel, ranging in price from £9.50 to £14.50 per person.

Army teams up with Tigers

The Thames Valley Tigers is a prestigious team in UK basketball and its management company Arena Leisuresport Promotions (ALP) is keen to do whatever it can to help promote the sport nationwide.
To this end,ALP has developed very strong links with the British Army Basketball Association. Tigers' Coach, Paul James, even gives up some of his time to coach the Army teams when they are preparing for inter-Services tournaments. And, the Tigers use the military training facilities at Aldershot in Hampshire.
This relationship - which, among other things, helps to raise the profile of the sport and encourage local Army families to go along to Tigers' games - has also resulted in ALP's sponsorship of Army basketball events. In the summer, for example,Tigers' shirts and matchballs were sought after items at a charity auction at a basketballathon held on the Army base at Dhekelia in Cyprus.
The basketballathon raised nearly £2,000 for charity and, of that, more than £500 was thanks to the auctioning of Tigers' memorabilia.
