Margaret proves she's not slow off the starting line

Customers of the Nike Group of Companies can always expect the best possible service from its staff and, therefore, making a judgement in the Group's annual Employee of the Year competition - which rewards staff for their attitude and hard work - is a difficult decision for Chairman John Nike to make.
This year, however, the winner was Margaret Rice of John Nike Leisuresport, Bracknell. She won a pair of tickets for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, including grandstand seats and full hospitality in the Toyota enclosure.
Margaret was nominated by her colleagues at the Bracknell complex for numerous reasons, including her dedication, flexibility and friendliness with both customers and staff. She has worked at the centre for 15 years and has only had one sick day in all that time.
The two runners up, Dennis Jones of the Coppid Beech Hotel and Jane McDougall of ALP, were presented with a two-night weekend break at either of the Nike Group Hotels, including full English breakfast and dinner.
John Nike, Chairman, commented: "A great selection of people but there can only be one winner - nevertheless all nominees are recognised and thanked for their hard work and loyalty."

To launch the new ski season, each John Nike Leisuresport Limited centre holds an open day so that potential customers can find out what is on offer.
Bracknell had its second annual open day on 14 September and visitors were able to use all the facilities for just £2.There was also a snowboard exhibition.
At Swadlincote, customers were offered free 45-minute taster sessions which incorporated skiing, snowboarding and snowblading.
At John Nike Leisuresport, Bristol, the Bristol Bulls Ice Hockey Club and Bristol Ice Skating Club performed on the ice and there was a free mass group skating lesson.
Still to come are the open days at Plymouth and Chatham. Chatham is spreading the fun over the weekend of 12 and 13 October. Saturday will focus on skiing, with discounted lessons being offered to all that attend. On Sunday, a snowboard competition called `High and Dry' will be taking place. As Connections went to press, John Nike Leisuresport, Plymouth, had not set a definite date for its open day so contact the centre or keep an eye on local press for details.

Customer service is always top of the agenda at Lightfoots petrol stations at Amen Corner in Bracknell and in Crowthorne. For this reason, the number of customers visiting the two sites is on the increase. To cope with this extra demand and to make sure customers are served as quickly as possible, new sales technology is being installed, including a rise in the number of tills.
