There was excellent news
for the Nike Group of Companies when it signed a new lease for Bristol
ice rink on 28 March 2002. The rink will now continue to be managed
by John Nike Leisuresport Limited for the foreseeable future, putting
an end to a period of uncertainty for staff and customers alike. Michelle
Down, Office Manager, said: "There is a great deal of relief
around the centre that all our jobs are safe and also much excitement.
It will be extremely interesting to be involved as the facility develops:'
John Nike, Chairman of the Nike Group of Companies, commented:"I
am delighted to have been able to negotiate a more secure medium-term
lease for the ice rink. John Nike Leisuresport will now continue to
provide the community of Bristol, and its surrounds, with ice skating.
The Nike Group plans a major investment to bring an ever-improving
leisure facility to the city."
Events are now being planned for the future, something that was not
able to happen before the lease was re-signed. For example, the
Chenobyl Children's charity has been invited for its yearly visit
to the rink in July when the visiting children can enjoy skating
lessons as part of their six-week respite to the UK.

New funding for disabled skiers |
John Nike Leisuresport centres
in Plymouth and Bracknell are giving disabled skiers better access
to the slopes by joining the Uphill Ski Club of Great Britain's 'Next
Step' initiative.
'Next Step' provides funding for ski centres so that they can incorporate
disabled skiing sessions into their main timetable.
The centres at Plymouth and Bracknell were each granted access to
funding - up to a maximum amount of £10,000 - after meeting
the Club's criteria, which included sufficient disabled access and
amenities.
Clare Walker from John Nike Leisuresport, Plymouth, helped to secure
the funding. She said: "Both centres are looking forward to developing
a good working relationship with the Uphill Ski Club. The funding
will allow us to provide a consistent and professional service to
disabled customers."

respectively, and attract many of the country's top racers. Everyone
is welcome to come along and watch - you may see the next world champion.

Rainbow Colourprint is in the process of constructing a new
website to offer its clients an even more efficient service. It will
include a unique stock control facility whereby customers can store
large quantities of a particular item at Rainbow's warehouse and order
from
stock, through the website, as and when they need it.
When stocks are becoming low, the system will let the client know
that a reprint is needed. Customers will also be able to request quotes
through the new site.
