Hopping mad!

A successful Easter was reported by all six John Nike Leisuresport Limited centres.
The Easter bunny visited Llandudno and went skiing and tobogganing with school groups and, at Bracknell, the children's activity camps were well attended. Youngsters enjoyed the activities on offer at Plymouth and Swadlincote, and the `radical kids' programme proved
popular in Chatham. It was also a busy period for the ice rink at Bristol.

Game, set and match for Lexus Berkshire

Lexus Berkshire sponsored the two winning teams, plus the runners up, at this year's Lexus UK Doubles Championships.
The annual tennis tournament is organised by Lexus UK, which asks all its dealerships to get involved by sponsoring teams of players from a local tennis club. Lexus Berkshire approached The Royal Berkshire Racket Club, who entered four teams - two men's and two women's. After defeating their opponents in the early ® rounds, both of the men's teams and one of the women's, went through to the final at Queens Club, London, on 10 May.
Tony Tate,from Lexus Berkshire, went to watch them in action. He said: "The men played each other in the final, so finished in first and second place.And our ladies team also won their final match.All in all, it was a very successful event:"

The Nike Group in brief

The East Midlands Ski Association chose to make use of the facilities at John Nike Leisuresport, Swadlincote, recently. Vince Whitewood, Manager, said: "The race-training group, which consists of youngsters up to 16 years-of-age, uses centres around the region for its three-hour training sessions. Receiving a visit from them is a relatively unusual and enjoyable experience for all concerned."

Lightfoots petrol stations continue to fuel the community with an excellent service supplying all types of Shell fuels for cars and motorbikes (and, maybe, lawnmowers too). Coppid Beech Hotel and The Swan at Streatley.The Swan will feature a new Christmas `House Party' - three nights of fine food and drink with good entertainment. Sounds great' to me and on page five you will find the full details. There is also information on the other
events that both hotels have in store for the end of the Golden Jubilee Year.
The John Nike Leisuresport Limited centres have plenty of entertainment planned and welcome early enquiries and bookings for the special Golden jubilee festive season (see page eight). Ali G may not appeal to all but the John Nike Leisuresport centres appeal to Ali G. In his film, Ali G in do House, he regards the
fictional John Nike Leisuresport centre in Staines as his `spiritual home'. I was delighted to be invited to see a premiere viewing of
the new film and it was nice to see the John Nike Leisuresport logo appear on the big screen.The film was good Ali G entertainment and
one could not help but laugh at the antics of this fictional Member of Parliament. Afterwards, I met Sasha Baron Cohen and we talked
about the connection with John Nike Leisuresport and how it came about. Interestingly, he wasn't someone who frequented the ice rink in Bracknell; he just liked the Connection.
