Winter 2001's Daily Mail
Ski Show at London Olympia was a tremendous success, with a noticeable
growth of interest in the event from the previous year. The show experienced
a huge increase in both bookings and entrants into the competition.
The John Nike Leisuresport Limited stand featured a snowboard competition
for visitors, and the winners received their prizes at a
champagne celebration at the Coppid Beech Hotel in November. They
were: James Barnes (17);Adam Smith ( 14); and Tayler Emblen (7). Each
won by achieving the best time in their relevant age group on a snowboard
machine at the stand. They were joined by Jocie Robertson who had attended
the ski show courtesy of the competition in the last edition of Connections.
She was also awarded a pair of snowblades.
George Dodds-Smith and Mr Fitzpatrick won a pair of snowblades and
a ski break at the Coppid Beech Hotel respectively, but were unable
to attend the celebration. Other prizes ranged from a set of skis
to family tickets for the Bracknell Bees ice hockey and the Thames
Valley Tigers basketball games. They were presented to the winners
by John Nike OBE Chairman of the Nike Group.
Suzanna May, Ski Show Co-ordinator, said: "The feedback from
visitors to our stand at the Ski Show was extremely positive. An enormous
thank you to all who were involved and who supported us. Let's hope
that this is the start of a fantastic ski season."
If you have any enquiries about what John Nike Leisuresport Limited

Off-road fun

Octagon Toyota hosted a very
successful 4x4 off-road vehicle test day on 21 October and sold three
cars as a result. It was a great
opportunity for some 50 customers to put the Toyota off-roaders through
their paces.
The cars trialled were the Land Cruiser Colorado, a very capable
eight-seater; the Amazon, the top of the range, seven-seater flagship
of the Toyota fleet; and the new diesel RAV4, a vehicle with off-road
capabilities that was launched last September. The event was
staged on Octagon's own makeshift off-road course, near the Coppid
Beech Hotel in Bracknel. This had been created for the event by Gareth
Eveleigh and Kevin Street, sales managers at the showroom.
Such was the day's success that another off-road test day is being
planned this spring. Invitations will be sent out either for a morning
or an afternoon, to suit customers. If you would like to be invited,
or would like to test drive any of the cars, please call
Octagon Toyota on 0 1344 789888.
